Zhengzhou Municipal Government and China Innovation Centre at Dubai Chambers forge collaborative partnership

Dubai UAE, Zhengzhou PRC, July 26, 2023 – An Wei, esteemed Member of the Standing Committee of the Henan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Zhengzhou Municipal Party Committee, led a distinguished party and government delegation on a visit to Dubai Chambers. This engagement marked a pivotal step towards fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between these two prominent entities.

During the visit, An Wei had the honour of being received by H.E. Mohamed Ali Lashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers. In a demonstration of shared aspirations, both sides agreed to promote exchanges and cooperation among enterprises and institutions situated in Zhengzhou and Dubai.

 

In the presence of Secretary An Wei and H.E. Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of Dubai Chambers, a cooperation memorandum was signed by Xia Yang, Director of Zhengzhou Development and Reform Commission, and Zhang Jianwei, CEO of China Innovation Centre at Dubai Chambers. The two parties have agreed to jointly hold industry investment conferences, product seminars, and technical exchange meetings. They will strengthen communication, establish a daily docking mechanism, conduct regular exchanges, negotiations, and mutual visits, and, in due course, set up offices in both locations. This initiative aims to establish a comprehensive service platform for local trade, investment, and innovation cooperation, while collaboratively creating a network of entrepreneurs in Zhengzhou and Dubai. Furthermore, the parties will offer support to companies from both regions for investing in and initiating local businesses.

As a national central city, Zhengzhou holds significant importance as a cradle of Chinese civilisation and a renowned national historical and cultural centre. It serves as a vital national transportation hub, encompassing public roads, railways, aviation, and telecommunications. It stands as the economic nucleus within the central region, boasting the world's largest air-rail hub. Moreover, it stands as a pivotal modern manufacturing base within the nation and a haven for the service industry. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, Zhengzhou City continues to advance the strategic deployment of accelerating the establishment of a new pinnacle for the country's external openness in the new era. The city aspires to construct an advanced, high-quality framework for a more elevated open economy.

Under the guidance of the Sheikh of Dubai, Dubai Chambers was established in 1965 as a governmental organisation. Its mission is to support and safeguard the interests of Dubai's business groups, with the goal of transforming Dubai into the most internationally oriented business hub by fostering a favourable business environment. In 2022, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai, officially inaugurated the "Dubai Global Plan." Subsequently, in 2023, the China Innovation Centre at Dubai Chambers was formally introduced, becoming a pivotal component of the Dubai Global Plan. This centre is committed to forging a new era of technological and economic collaboration between China and Dubai.

Pan Xinhong, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, Geng Yongjun, Director of the Zhengzhou Finance Bureau, Yang Yinghui, Chairman of Zhengzhou Investment Group Co. Ltd., and other representatives from relevant government departments participated in the exchange.
